Despot – Crap Artists

Despot estimates he has been rapping for a total of seventeen years.  In that time, he has released a total of zero albums. He has been featured on tracks by rap music legends like El-P and Killer Mike as well as the new exciting crop of MCs coming out of Queens, New York (Action Bronson, Das Racist, Meyhem Lauren). He has also toured with childhood friends Ratatat, who are producing his entire debut solo album, more than five times.

Still, no record.

Fans’ frustration boiling over, Despot spent at least a couple of minutes of his set on each stop of the Into the Wild Tour apologizing for the record not coming out.

“Record’s not out yet,” he said at his Dallas performance, “still working on it. Always working on it, never working on it. Y’all know what I mean?”

Though that isn’t the most articulate way to get his point across, at least the man knows that he’s slacking.

In terms of actual rhymes, which Wayne has been low on for some time, there's nothing here to warrant choosing the versions available here to the versions available in every strip club, dance hall, and fuckin pharmacy in the Midwest.
